JOSE QUINTEROS
The piece on view Rama de Cicuta includes documentation of a photo-performance and a bottle of hemlock – a highly poisonous plant. The photo of the plant is an offering of a gorgeous bouquet, and the bottle of its poisonous extract, a seductive invitation to tempt fate. In very small doses, hemlock also has the capacity to heal or to be used as medicine. Both deadly poison, and purifying remedy, the work is a meditation on the balancing act between that which harms and that which heals.
