ASTRID TERRAZAS

The entire exhibition is about how we as individuals can build and become fountains of giving while still being replenished. Astrid grew up between Juarez and Dallas and saw firsthand how the Rio Grande River was used as a divider when it could have been a connector. The fountain is a self-portrait and functions as a symbol of how individuals can redirect the power of water and harness it for the many. Astrid is part of the Ridgewood Tenets Union and works with many unhoused and undocumented folks so this work is really about her work as a community organizer as well.
